It's All About That Base... Primer That Is!

In my last post I shared some of the eyeshadows that I am loving right now, but what good are they if they do not stay in place. I know that some people are fans of using concealer on their lids as a primer which can totally do the trick, but I am a total fan of using a great eyeshadow primer. I have tried several different eyeshadow primers, but I have narrowed down three of my favorites here for you. I am going to note them from the least expensive to the more pricey option. You can find all three of these products at Sephora and the latter two can also be found at ULTA or other beauty retailers.

Sephora is one of my happy places, I mean going in there for me is like a kid in the candy store. I go in looking for one thing and come out with other goodies. Sephora has a great primer for the eyes in their beauty collection called the Perfecting Eye Primer. This product will cost you $14.00 and really does the trick. I find that it lasts all day and keeps my eyeshadow looking fresh. You will not have to worry about your eye makeup creasing either. The great thing about a good primer is that will not only keep your eyeshadow in place, but your eyeliner and concealer as well and this primer does that.

My phenomenal beautician Bria introduced me to my next favorite years ago when I noticed that her eyeshadow looked great and looked that way throughout the day. She told me to try the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I am so happy that I did. You will not have any flaking or fading with your eye makeup with this product. It will cost you $20.00 which is in the ballpark with most of the reputable primers out there. Too Faced does have a couple of other formulas that are waterproof and color correcting, so you have options with this brand that can address other concerns.

My last and new favorite is a makeup cult favorite. After watching several youtubers rave about this product, I had to try it for myself and it totally delivered. The Urban Decay Primer Potion is the TRUTH. Like the Too Faced primers this one too comes in a few different formulas that tackle different things. Some of them can actually also be used to highlight or as eyeshadows themselves. I bought the anti-aging, I mean if it can help with the signs of aging in the eye area, how could I say no. This primer will not only lock your eye color in place, but the color will pop and go on smoothly. It has color correcting elements to it as well which will create the perfect canvas for you to display your beautiful eyeshadows. There are two different sizes with this primer, the mini which will run you $13.00 and the regular tube is $24.00. Now I know why this is so revered in the makeup community.

You cannot go wrong with any of the primers that I have mentioned here, they all do exactly what they say they are going to do. Do let me know if you have a favorite that has really worked for you as I am always eager to hear about and try other brands that work. Keep it beautiful and keep it in place!
