My Second Skin

The struggle is so real! Hunting for a new foundation is no joke. There are so many different brands, so many price points that this can be a very daunting task. You would think that knowing your skin type would really narrow down your selections, but that is so not the case. Do you go for a liquid, cream to powder, or a foundation stick, the options are endless. My current collection consists of all price points from low to medium to higher end. I do not let price deter me as I know and understand that makeup can sometimes be an investment. I always feel like I have found a great foundation when people compliment my skin and not my foundation. I do still consider it a compliment when someone asks what foundation I wear because it looks good or flawless, but when it looks like you just have great skin, that is when you know you have found your pot of gold!

My new favorite foundation is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup. About a month ago, I went to Sephora with two foundations in mind that I wanted to try after reading so much about them. I have worn Make Up For Ever for quite sometime now, but with their liquid foundation, there is not a color that matches me in itself. I have to blend two shades to get the right color match, which means I have to buy two foundations. I want be able to go with a brand where one bottle or tube will work. This way I can feel confident about it without having to mix it with another product to render the results that I am looking for. I tried the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation which I was super stoked about, but it was an epic fail for me. The colors were either too light, too red or too dark. This was disappointing because it is supposed to provide up to 24 hours of wear with transfer resistance. I am all about some long wearing makeup that I will not have to touch up several times a day. Since it is fairly new, maybe they will come out with additional formulations. My second selection was the Urban Decay Naked foundation which was love at first swipe. It blends in like a dream and gives me great coverage! This makeup was created to look like your skin and the coverage is very buildable. Even though I have oily skin, I don't want to look overly matte, I like to look luminous, just not shiny and I accomplish this with this product. I cannot say enough about this foundation it get a 10 from me!

My next pursuit will be for a setting powder, so if anyone has any suggestions outside of the Make Up For Ever HD Powder, I am all ears. I have found that the HD powder does not photograph well with a flash which is NO BUENO!
