August Favorites

I am so late with this post, but I figure better late than never! August was not a very heavy month as far as my favorites go, but I did find some great things that will definitely carry me into autumn. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love autumnal fashion and and coloring, so I am super excited for it to be officially Fall. Keep reading to see the things that captured my attention and wallet in the month of August.

My jewelry obsession was still very much in full effect last month. Baublebar is still one of my favorite shopping destinations for my accessories, but thanks to Instagram I stumbled upon Purple Peridot. This online retailer is a great place to get wonderful seasonal and staple accessory pieces. They have jewelry, scarves, apparel and clutches. The price points are great and they are always running phenomenal deals which can be very hard to resist. I purchased their Rivulet necklace and earrings, Turquoise Squash Blossom necklace, Gold Bow necklace and the Yellow Coppice necklace. All of these pieces are very different and can be worked into my wardrobe for the fall season. Definitely check them out if you have not already, you may find something that you really like.

For someone who swore against flats and stacked heeled shoes for years, they continue to find their way into my closet. I knew that I had some missing staples from my wardrobe in the shoe department and I am very pleased with my recent additions. I really enjoy shopping at Nordstrom online because they always seem to have my size when it comes to shoes. It is frequently my experience with most stores that the size 10 shoes are always the first to sell out which can be very frustrating time after time. I love suede, patent leather and metallic finishes when it come to shoes during the autumn season. I purchased a pair Calvin Klein beige patent leather Camella Oxford which have a great pop of orange in the heel that are a great standout feature. I also picked up a pair of Shellys London metallic Boston Oxford which is a very modern minimalist lace-up shoe. A shoe haul is never complete without going to the Zara website. I love a good pair of boots and found an awesome pair of suede pointed toe ankle booties in a taupe shade. They almost have a cowboy boot appeal to them. All three of pairs of shoes will definitely help me to create some great looks in the upcoming months.

In the area of of skincare I have really enjoyed using three products from Peter Thomas Roth. The Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask has done a great job or really pulling dirt and impurities from my skin. My skin feel smoother and it has been a great compliment to boscia skin routine. The Un-Wrinkle Night leave my skin feeling nourished and well moisturized at night. I cannot say yet that I have noticed dramatic changes with anti-aging and reduction with my smile lines that makeup tends to settle in, but excited to see the progress. My favorite product has been the Retinol Fusion PM. I can see the improvement in my complexion and the tone of my skin is brighter. It is also formulated to help with wrinkles and such, but the jury is still out on that claim. I am still eager to see the continued improvements with my skin as I continue to use these product in my regimen.

I am always looking for new fragrances that are perfect for any season. I have not been a person who swaps out fragrances depending on the season, so I tend to like very transitional scents. I tend to stay with those that are sweet, soft with sensual notes. I purchased Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline and for the most part I have been pleased. The only slight drawback that I have is that it does not linger like some of my other favorite fragrances like Alien. It is a light fragrance and is very feminine and floral. If you are one that does not like to wear very strong perfumes, this may be one for you to place on your list to try.

My final favorite is not one that I had to go to the store for, well not in a recent purchase. For Christmas I bought my husband a great classic Levis denim jacket and now it is all mine. The shoulders started to become snug for him, so he bequeathed it to me. It makes the perfect over-sized denim jacket and I love this look. I have paired it with maxi dresses, jeans and tank tops, all look great. I will definitely continue to sport this look as long as the weather permits as it soon will be fine for the real jackets and coats.
